This is pretty funny. Scott Larsen accuses Amway staff of being unable to read for claiming his website refers to a DTI Investigation. He explicitly states the word "investigation" was never used.
Then kindly provides a link to the web page in question - clearly headlined "investigation".

Eric Scheibeler: A Merchant of Deception
For some time now a former Amway/Quixtar Emerald, Eric Scheibeler, has been waging a war against the Amway/Quixtar business. Eric Scheibeler wrote and self-published a book called Merchants of Deception. Scheibeler also hired a web professional, who launched numerous websites, such as merchantsofdeception.com and letsgetthewordout.com and edited Wikipedia entries on Eric Scheibeler, Quixtar, and Amway.
Mr. Scheibeler's book is allegedly the story of his experience building an Amway business to the Emerald level. While I have little doubt some of what he reports and his experiences are true, it's quite obvious the book is written as a "hit piece". For example, he claims an extremely small income as an Emerald, however he only ever reports his Net Income, ie after expenses. As a former Federal Auditor, I'm certain Mr Scheibeler is an expert at squeezing every last possible deductable expense possible. In another instance, he mentions his wife and he were "shocked" when they received their first depth bonus, as they'd been led to believe this can be one of the largest bonuses. It is inconceivable to me that someone who builds to the Emerald level is so ignorant of how the Amway bonus system works that they could be shocked by this - a depth bonus is quite evidently based on depth and is quite obviously small the first time you qualify for it. It's only as your business grows that it can become significant. I'm certain Mr. Scheibeler knew this, but being shocked and implying he was deceived makes for a better story, doesn't it?
Today comes news that Eric Scheibeler has admitted in federal court that he lied when he said he'd uncovered billions of dollars in consumer fraud with the company and that he falsely said he and his family were threatened, that he had been offered money in exchange for his silence and that Quixtar did something to his Web site.
Scheibeler has been involved in testifying against Amway in the UK, India, and the United States and was cited in newspapers in Sweden as being threatened by Amway. He has caused untold damage to millions of Independent Business Owners. He should be enormously thankful that Quixtar has elected to drop it's defamation charges against him now that he has admitted his deceptions.

North American Founders' Council - Who and what is it?
A week ago Quixtar, the North American Founder's Council (NAFC), and the IBOAI released a joint statement regarding TEAM.
Since that statement I've seen numerous folk asking what the NAFC was, often claiming it was "mysterious" and "non-representative" and "why haven't I (they) heard of it?"
Well, if they haven't heard of it , that's because they don't bother reading information provided by Quixtar. How to become a Founders' Council member is clearly outlined in the Quixtar Business Incentive's brochure. I quote from the 2007 version (may require Quixtar logon) -

Amway UK reminds us what a great company Amway can be
Amway United Kingdom & Ireland has been undergoing some challenges this year, with an investigation by the DTI (now BERR) into Amway's business being triggered by a concerted campaign by Amway critics on the internet. In response to the risk of having the business shut down, Amway UK & Ireland put in place a freeze on all sponsoring and the use of unauthorised BSM (Business Support Materials). Retailing of products was still permissible.
As you can imagine, such a freeze and uncertainty could easily have quite disastrous effects on the growth of individual IBOs businesses. Perhaps those most greatly affected would be those IBOs striving to achieve Platinum and above and their associated rewards, such as free incentive trips.
While there's been some ongoing conflict between IBOs and Quixtar in the United States, Amway UK & Ireland has stepped up to take care of IBOs in this situation, changing and simplifying the requirements to qualify for various bonuses and trips this year. Below is the letter from Amway UK branch manager Tom Denham to all Platinums and above -

Court issues temporary restraining order against Quixtar
The Wayne County Circuit Court has, correctly in my view, issued a temporary restraining order against Quixtar. Last week Quixtar sent a letter threatening TEAM-affiliated platinums with suspension if they didn't return a signed letter to Quixtar agreeing to certain conditions by noon Monday.
Naturally enough, the affected parties went to Court trying to stop them. The Court issued a temporary restraining order and called a hearing on August 31 to decide what further shall happen.

TEAM forums banning all dissenters?
TEAM IBOs have been running a forum at http://forums.freetheibo.info. Frankly I don't think they've been helping their cause much, as many of them have been talking about practices explicitly against Quixtar rules.
I've been somewhat sympathetic to some of the issues TEAM has raised, but to be honest, their reps. are starting to p**s me off. I went to read the forums and discovered my IP address had been banned, supposedly for breaking the rules. I double checked the rules and my posts and couldn't find any I broke, so using a different IP address I logged on and posted a message asking why I'd been banned.
